9 AdmissionsApplication for Transfer AdmissionThe transferring student must take the following steps to apply for admission:• Submit a completed application form and non-refundable $25 application fee to the Officeof Admissions.• Have all official transcripts of college work taken at every other institution sent to the Office ofAdmissions directly from the college registrar’s office.• Have an official transcript of high school work sent to the Office of Admissions directly fromthe high school records office if less than 12 semester hours credit of college work is transferableto <strong>Barton</strong>.Special Admission<strong>Barton</strong> <strong>College</strong> admits a person in two categories as a special student. A student from either ofthese categories must meet the requirements of the courses to be taken.• The teacher certification candidate who has already completed a baccalaureate degree.• The college graduate working to complete the requirements of a second major and asecond degree.Application for Special AdmissionThe special student must take the following steps to apply for admission:• Submit a completed application form along with a non-refundable $25 application fee to theOffice of Admissions. The application fee is waived for a graduate of <strong>Barton</strong> <strong>College</strong>.• Have official transcripts of all college work taken at other institutions sent to the Officeof Admissions.Non-Degree Enrollment<strong>Barton</strong> <strong>College</strong> admits the part-time student for non-degree enrollment. This includes:• The student who is seeking a degree at another college or university.• The student who is not currently interested in seeking a college degree but who wishesto enroll in classes either for credit or as an auditing student.• The college graduate who wishes to take personal enrichment courses.• The high school student whose PSAT/SAT/ACT score is in the upper half of national normsand/or who ranks in the upper quarter of the high school class. A written statement grantingpermission to enroll at the <strong>College</strong> must be provided by the high school principal.
