The scholarship is awarded to a junior education major who is a minority student fromWilson County, North Carolina. The scholarship is renewable for the senior year under thesame criteria.The James I. Miller Endowed Scholarship was established by combining the James I. MillerEndowment and the James I. Miller General Loan Fund. The James I. Miller Endowed Scholarshipis to be awarded to a deserving student who has financial need and has a record of academicsuccess and shows strong potential for continued academic achievement and personal growth at<strong>Barton</strong> <strong>College</strong>. The James I. Miller Endowed Scholarship will be awarded for one academic year,and may be renewed if the recipient remains in good standing with the <strong>College</strong> and maintains aGPA of 2.00.The Manley Morton “Timothy Fellowship” Scholarship was established through thewill of Mr. Morton of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who was the first male graduate of the <strong>College</strong>.The scholarship is awarded to a student(s) in Religion and Philosophy with a 3.0 grade pointaverage, with first preference going to a student who is interested in preparing for the ministry.Awards are made upon the recommendation of the faculty of the Department of Religion andPhilosophy. The Selah Morton Nursing Scholarship has been combined with the Manley Morton“Timothy Fellowship” Scholarships.The Clarence H. and Florence C. Moye Endowed Scholarship was established with fundsfrom the Clarence H. Moye estate, and from Mrs. Clarence H. Moye, in memory of her husband.This scholarship will be awarded by the <strong>Barton</strong> <strong>College</strong> Scholarship Committee. The followingconsiderations govern eligibility and selection: the student must have a minimum SAT of 1,000 orhigher (or ACT equivalent), and a minimum grade point average of 3.00 or higher.The A. Randoloph and Cora Lee O. Munn Scholarship was established by Cora LeeMunn, class of 1929, in memory of her husband, Randolph “Randy” Munn. The A. Randolphand Cora Lee O. Munn Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time undergraduate student at <strong>Barton</strong><strong>College</strong> who demonstrates financial need.The Amrut Nakhre Endowed Scholarship was established by friends and from studentsof Dr. Nakhre, a longtime faculty member who taught political science at <strong>Barton</strong> <strong>College</strong>. Thisscholarship is to be awarded to the student with the highest grade point average among applicants.To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must have a 2.80 GPA and be an upperclassman(junior or senior) majoring in political science. The faculty of the Department of History andSocial Sciences makes the selection.
