Make sure the PATH variable includes%NUANCE%\bin\win32 and %VOCALIZER%\bin\win32.On Unix, $VOCALIZER/bin/sparc-solaris is added to the PATH and LD_LIBRARYenvironment variables when you source the SETUP script, as described in theinstallation procedure for Solaris (step 8 on page 6).<strong>Nuance</strong> provides a license key that controls the number of concurrent channelsthat can be opened to the TTS server. You can run this license file using aninstance of the <strong>Nuance</strong> License Manager (nlm), as described in “Starting a<strong>Vocalizer</strong> TTS server” on page 11.Note: The default two-port license shipped with <strong>Vocalizer</strong> uses port 8471. Whenyou buy your <strong>Vocalizer</strong> license, this port number may change, and you must setthe lm.Addresses parameter accordingly.You can test your installation by sending text to <strong>Vocalizer</strong> to be synthesizedthrough the Offline Audio Generator, a graphical tool included with yourinstallation.
