Setting the Eluent LevelNOTEIf the Connected check box is not selected, click the boxto connect the <strong>ICS</strong>-<strong>1000</strong> to the Control Panel.B.12.1 Verifying Chromeleon CommunicationVerify that Chromeleon is communicating with the <strong>ICS</strong>-<strong>1000</strong> by clickingthe Inject and then the Load button on the Control Panel. Ifcommunication is occurring, you will hear the valve actuate as it changesposition.Go on to Section B.13.B.13 Setting the Eluent LevelAfter filling the reservoir, enter the volume of liquid in the reservoir on theChromeleon Control Panel (see Figure B-34). The <strong>ICS</strong>-<strong>1000</strong> determines theeluent usage by monitoring the flow rate and the length of time the pump is on,and updates the Eluent Level field as the eluent is used up. A warning appears ifthe level falls below 200 mL. Warnings are repeated at 100 mL and 0 mL.In order for the eluent level displayed on the Control Panel to beaccurate, the level must be entered by the user when the reservoir isfilled. The <strong>ICS</strong>-<strong>1000</strong> does not automatically detect when the reservoiris filled, nor when it is empty.Enter the volume ofliquid in the reservoirNote: The Eluent Bottlefield and slider gaugeare updated as theliquid is used up.Figure B-34.
