4 • Troubleshooting• Malfunctioning injection valve1. Rebuild the injection valve (see Section 5.4).2. If the valve leak persists, contact Dionex for assistance.4.9 Nonreproducible Peak Height or Retention Time• Column overloadingDilute the sample (see Section 3.9).• Liquid leaksLocate and eliminate the leaks (see Section 4.2).• Incomplete or imprecise filling of the sample loop1. Fill the sample loop until excess sample exits the waste line.2. Inspect the 1-cc syringe (P/N 016388) and replace if damaged.• Pump not primed properlyPrime the pump (see Section B.12).4.10 Abnormal Retention Time or Selectivity• Contaminated or incorrect eluentRemake the eluent, using concentrated eluent and ASTM filtered, Type I (18-megohm) deionized water.• Contaminated or degraded sampleTake appropriate precautions when preparing and storing samples to preventcontamination and degradation (see Section 3.9).• Contaminated column1.
