E•FAQE.1 How do I hook up an autosampler?For instructions on how to connect the ICS-1000 to an AS50 autosampler, seeSection B.17 of this manual. To connect an AS40, see Section B.18. Also see theAS50 Autosampler Operator’s Manual (Document No. 031169) or the AS40Automated Sampler Operator’s Manual (Document No. 034970). The manualsare included on the Dionex Reference Library CD-ROM (P/N 053891), located inthe ICS-1000 Ship Kit (P/N 057905).E.2 How do I print?Click the Print toolbar button in Chromeleon (see Section 2.3).E.3 Why are the retention times moving?Retention times can shift if the pump flow is erratic or if the column or eluent iscontaminated. See Section 4.6 for pump flow rate troubleshooting. If acontaminated column is suspected, clean the column as instructed in the columnmanual. The column manual is included on the Dionex Reference Library CD-ROM (P/N 053891), located in the ICS-1000 Ship Kit (P/N 057905).E.4 How do I adjust retention times?Retention times are calculated during calibration. The Use Recently DetectedRetention Time parameter in the Chromeleon QNT Editor (General tab) can beused to compensate for some types of retention time drifts; for example,evaporation of volatile components in pre-mixed solvents or an aging column.Refer to the Chromeleon Help or user’s guide for details.Doc. 031879-01 3/03 E-1
