These maybe late-eluting peaks from a previous injection, or they may be the result of acontaminated standard or eluent, or a malfunctioning injection valve. These peaksmay co-elute with peaks of interest, resulting in nonreproducible peakheights/areas.• Insufficient time between sample injectionsWait until the previous sample has been completely eluted before makinganother injection.• Insufficient flush between samplesFlush the sample loop with at least 10 loop volumes of deionized water orsample between sample injections.• Incorrect or contaminated standardsRemake standards.• Incorrect or contaminated eluentRemake the eluent according to the instructions in the column manual.Column manuals are included on the Dionex Reference Library CD-ROM(P/N 053891).Install or replace the end-line filter on the end of the deionized water line (seeSection 3.4.3).4-16 Doc. 031879-01 3/03
