COSMED Drugstore: Salesperson (Part-time) - Taichung, Taiwan (Apr 2009 - Jul 2009)<br />
COSMED, owned by the President Chain Store Corporation is an international retailer selling cosmetics, medicine, health food and<br />
personal daily commodities. The largest drugstore in Taiwan with over 120 branches, and a turnover in excess <strong>of</strong> �58m, employing<br />
2,600 people.<br />
� Managed the cashier desk and product displays. Fulfilled customers' needs, such as introducing and comparing different products,<br />
recommending suitable medicine or suggesting follow-up treatments, resulting in sales for the organisation.<br />
� Successful in selling own-brand products by analysing product benefits and price whilst using skillful negotiation techniques and<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional product knowledge, resulting in high levels <strong>of</strong> customer satisfaction.<br />
� Assisted in making Bei-ping a top 10 store, with some <strong>of</strong> the highest sales in own-brand products each month. This was achieved by<br />
ensuring that every customer was given the best possible experience.<br />
Wagon Shipping Corporation: Sales Representative - Taichung, Taiwan (Sep 2006 - Jul 2008)<br />
Wagon is in the top five international trade shipping agencies and has 18 branches in four countries, employng over 450 people. Its<br />
main business integrates sea, land, air and rail transport.<br />
� Assisted two main sales partners and strengthened the business relationships with over 100 clients, developing improved communications<br />
between the business and the customer base.<br />
� Explored new customers by cold calling or visiting clients to <strong>of</strong>fer products and services, through which the pr<strong>of</strong>it made up 20% <strong>of</strong> the<br />
team's total business.<br />
� Provided and updated market information to clients such as new routes between ports, growth and declines in ocean rates and <strong>of</strong>fered the<br />
best pathway <strong>of</strong> transportation for clients based on their demands; maximising the pr<strong>of</strong>it margin and satisfaction rate. Managed<br />

National Chung Cheng University 2006 Yearbook: Chief Editor - Chiayi, Taiwan (Sep 2005 - Jun 2006)<br />
� Managed and administered all the processes <strong>of</strong> compiling the annual yearbook, which contained seven departments and over 75 classes in<br />
the university. Arranged the contract for a printing house, negotiating the price <strong>of</strong> printing and merchandise. Organised the class photos and<br />
the overall planning <strong>of</strong> the layout, resulting in the well organised production <strong>of</strong> the yearbook.<br />
� Introduced and marketed incentives to students <strong>of</strong>fering souvenirs for particpation, including designer bags, playing cards, a series <strong>of</strong><br />
postcards, and discs with videos and pictures <strong>of</strong> students. Successfully attracted students to order the yearbook, increasing sales by 10%<br />
compared to the previous year.<br />
National Chung Cheng University Survey Research Center (CCUSRC): Telephone Interviewer - Chiayi, Taiwan (Sep 2004 - Oct 2004)<br />
CCUSRC serves the contract proposals <strong>of</strong> market surveys from government departments, non-pr<strong>of</strong>it organisations, private sectors<br />
services and academic units with its pr<strong>of</strong>essional statistics service.<br />
� Joined the research topic �Smoker Consumer Behaviour in Taiwan�, analysing the factors that influenced smoker consumer behaviour such<br />
as age, region and education level, producing data to support the findings <strong>of</strong> the study.<br />
� Utilised telephone interviewing methodologies to collect data and obtain statistical information as required, organising and completing work<br />
assignments and surveys, through developing rapport with participants.<br />
National Chung Cheng University Survey Research Center (CCUSRC): Interviewer - Chiayi, Taiwan (Feb 2003 - Apr 2003)<br />
Participated in the research topic �Research <strong>of</strong> Taiwan Election and Democratisation,� �analysing the relationships amongst<br />
demographics, political preferences and media receiving access and collating evidence to support the data collected.<br />
� Served as a face-to-face interviewer in Kaohsiung City and undertook intensive training in interview skills, gaining an understanding <strong>of</strong> the<br />
communication techniques in various situations and applying these to the interviews undertaken.<br />
� Succeeded in interviewing over 50 people and applied SPSS to examine how people can be influenced to change their preferences on<br />
political issues, reporting findings to the Research panel and gaining recognition for the data collected.<br />
