Symrise (Shanghai) Limited: Product Manager Scent and Care - ��������������������������- Aug 2009)<br />

Fourth largest fragrance and flavour manufacturer in the world with a turnover <strong>of</strong> �1.3bn, supplier to leading FMCG companies.<br />

� Managed highly effective team <strong>of</strong> two assistants and one intern, growing the product portfolio. Drove sales growth by using strong<br />

interpersonal skills, working in cross functional teams and establishing strong relationships with the sales team across four categories; fine<br />

fragrance +30%, haircare +16%, cosmetics +10% and deodorant +26% 2007/2008 year on year value growth.<br />

� Created new personal care product ideas through analysing market trends, presented these to key customers such as Beiersdorf, Johnson<br />

& Johnson, Henkel and LG to gain new project briefs. Successful examples include styling shampoo for Beiersdorf's Slek range, traditional<br />

Chinese medicine applications to modern products e.g. Nivea face creams, a good-night shower gel for Slek and 'Lohas' lifestyle concept<br />

for Mind Upon Mind tissues, adding new business in excess <strong>of</strong> �2m between 2007-2009.<br />

� Launched and designed quarterly magazine newsletter, sent to all key account customers, such as NICE, Liby, Jahwa, Beiersdorf, Johnson<br />

& Johnson and Henkel, to communicate market trends, new product launches and technological innovations. A key service, which<br />

differentiates Symrise from its competitors and contributes to strong customer relationships.<br />

� Discovered a new business opportunity through a joint strategic planning project, with the sales team for the tissue market. Became sole<br />

fragrance supplier to a fast growing �160m tissue producer, won and maintained through strong sales relationship and continuous<br />

innovative marketing support for the customer 2007-2009.<br />

� Lead marketer for personal care product portfolio, worked in cross functional teams with sales, product evaluation and perfumers to help<br />

win projects with key account customers. Won the new Estee Lauder �Ying -Yang��product range supply contract (due to be launched in<br />

2010), through strong marketing communications and fragrance concept support (2009). Also created a variety <strong>of</strong> fragrance experience<br />

launch stories for the fine fragrance key account Jahwa. These concepts helped win accumulated contract business worth �1.1m, 2007-<br />

2009.<br />

� Won key business contract with China�s biggest paper manufacturer (Heng An) by introducing a series <strong>of</strong> �Green movement��concepts<br />

worth an additional yearly sales value <strong>of</strong> �500k, 2006-2007.<br />

Symrise (Shanghai) Ltd: Marketing Executive Scent Care - ��������������������������- Mar 2007)<br />

� Analysed new product launches and trends in consumer behaviour, provided insights to cross functional teams.<br />

� Strengthened the marketing and sales communication, provided guidance for new fragrance development.<br />

� Built up an encyclopaedia library <strong>of</strong> mass market beauty care products launched between 2005-2008 in China.<br />

� Translated latest global trend documents and press releases, provided to local customers to strengthen and reinforce business<br />

relationships.<br />

� Managed product sample library and documentation <strong>of</strong> olfactive conclusion <strong>of</strong> personal care and household products, a comprehensive<br />

Symrise (Shanghai) Ltd: Evaluator Scent Care - Shanghai, China (Apr 2005 - Oct 2006)<br />

� Selected shortlisted fragrances that were submitted to customers, produced products for the personal care and household sectors in order<br />

to win new fragrance supply contracts. Role also involved promoting new frangrance ideas to the sales team.<br />

� Organised fragrance collection library with over 1000 samples.<br />

� Selected the winning fragrance for the No 1 leading detergent powder in China (volume share), additional business worth �2m, 2006.<br />

International Fragrance and Flavour (Shanghai) Limited: Administrative Position - ��������������������������- Apr 2005)<br />

� Helped maintain daily business operation and developed strong organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.<br />

Firmenich (Shanghai) Limited: Internship Fragrance Marketing Department - Shanghai, China (Jul 2003 - Jan 2004)<br />

� Assistant to the lead product manager, analysed market research data, helped design the creative centre presentations and translated<br />
