Sandvik Mining and Construction: Project Manager - Tampere and London (Mar 2008 - Jun 2009)<br />

Sandvik Mining and Construction is one <strong>of</strong> the world�s leading providers <strong>of</strong> equipment and solutions for mineral exploration, surface<br />

and underground mining, bulk-materials handling, construction and environmental restoration.<br />

� Led a project and built a team <strong>of</strong> 10 within the global <strong>of</strong>fering department, to develop and implement global cross-selling and account<br />

management strategies across nine different regions. Collaborated closely with key accounts around the globe to generate strategic<br />

account plans and enhance customer pr<strong>of</strong>itability. Reported directly to the executive management team.<br />

� Focussed primarily on identifying and building areas within the business unit's <strong>of</strong>fering that could effectively create and deliver customerperceived<br />

value, whilst maximising internal synergies across functional silos. Built a business case around the company's materials<br />

processing segment to demonstrate the correlation between cross-selling and account management and the ability to generate a<br />

sustainable competitive advantage. As a result, the business unit was re-organised into three segments to maximise internal synergies and<br />

a new market worth US$500m was identified.<br />

Sandvik Mining and Construction: Marketing Trainee - Tampere (Aug 2007 - Mar 2008)<br />

� Conducted market research to identify differing customer pr<strong>of</strong>iles, as well as competitor behaviour. Created and regularly updated a<br />

customer database for internal use, increasing the efficiency <strong>of</strong> the company's account management programme.<br />

� Represented Sandvik Mining and Construction at international conventions, fairs and customer events. Organised the launch <strong>of</strong> a new<br />

product for the construction segment, displayed at SMOPYC (Zaragoza, Spain), Europe's largest trade show, to create new business leads<br />

and to strengthen its position in the European (especially Spanish) and Latin American markets.<br />

� Created new marketing and sales materials, reports, articles (published in �Engineering and Mining Journal�) and conference papers, in cooperation<br />

with the sales support department and an advertising agency, for underground mining - a segment within Sandvik Mining and<br />

Construction.<br />

El Corte Ingles S.A: Salesman - Tenerife, Spain (Dec 2003 - ����������<br />

Spain's largest department store chain.��<br />

� Generated over �25k in monthly sales in the electronics department. Assigned responsibility for the management <strong>of</strong> the Personal Digital<br />

Assistant (PDA) department, having demonstrated driving pr<strong>of</strong>itability and customer satisfaction.<br />

� Worked with senior management to provide exceptional customer service, through the implementation <strong>of</strong> a �Back to <strong>School</strong>��programme<br />

within the books and stationery departments. Liaised and negotiated with the company's supply chain, from the original suppliers through to<br />

the end user in the education sector, continuously strengthening interpersonal communication skills.<br />
