Renmin Beijing Radio (RBC): Journalist - China (Jul 2007 - Sep 2007)<br />
RBC is the largest broadcasting corporation in Beijing. As a public service broadcaster, RBC provides services including nine radio<br />
stations and an extensive website: http://www.rbc.com covering seven regions in China and has a strong collaboration with the BBC<br />
and CNN.<br />
� Researched and compiled independent five minute reports, including looking at the trend behind parents sending their children to study<br />
during school holidays across China's universities. The programme was called 'Education Face to Face' and accompanied the studio<br />
discussions on the subject.<br />
� Responsible for selecting and inviting guests to be interviewed on the programme, communicating with the guest regarding the outline <strong>of</strong> the<br />
show, questions that would be asked, duration, time and date and generally putting them at ease.<br />
� Covered international and internal education conferences and expositions and pre-recording the broadcast at the location in order to<br />
promote these events, which would be aired daily on the programme.<br />

The largest manufacturer and distributor <strong>of</strong> kitchen and bathroom cabinets for the building trade in China.<br />
� In charge <strong>of</strong> the opening ceremonies <strong>of</strong> two new flagship stores, which involved writing press releases and issuing to national papers,<br />
working with a local agency on a new advertisement for TV to launch the stores, designing the layout and content for posters and flyers,<br />
which were mailed out to customers, subway stations and seen on side <strong>of</strong> buses. These activities were aimed at strengthening the brand<br />
and resulted in a 400% increase in sales over a three day period.<br />

Press Office <strong>of</strong> Beijing Normal University handles a wide range <strong>of</strong> media enquiries, including the publication <strong>of</strong> a weekly newspaper,<br />
website and a TV station.<br />
� Selected the best, most interesting and thought provoking articles from hundreds supplied by faculty and students and replied to every<br />
submission, whether it would be printed or not.<br />
� Edited the articles, using the equivalent <strong>of</strong> an Apple Mac in China and with assistance from the team <strong>of</strong> eight, published the finished paper.<br />
� Successfully had published six articles, with topics ranging from interviews with famous pr<strong>of</strong>essors and students who were known for<br />
winning a national competition or who volunteered their time within the community to teach youngsters.<br />
� Led the weekly planning meetings, discussing and agreeing the next topics with the team, scheduling interviews and editing reports for the<br />
news website.<br />
