Skye Bank Plc: Relationship Officer, Corporate Banking Group - Lagos, Nigeria (Aug 2005 - Sep 2009)<br />

With a balance sheet size <strong>of</strong> US$7bn, Skye Bank is one <strong>of</strong> Nigerian�s top 10 banks and is fast expanding into other West African<br />

countries with similar business cultures to Nigeria.<br />

� Took ownership <strong>of</strong> customers��transactions across different units in the bank from start to finish, improving the overall quality <strong>of</strong> service and<br />

developing a positive relationship with customers, thereby achieving an average increase <strong>of</strong> 12% per customer�s trade businesses.<br />

� Involved in growing the team's quality risk assets to about US$60m by analysing customers��financial situation to determine credit rating and<br />

presenting the worthwhile requests to the management credit committee for approval.<br />

� Instrumental in the cross selling <strong>of</strong> retail banking services including work place banking (e-salary payments, personal loans, credit cards) to<br />

corporate customers, building on the team's quality relationships with clients. These banking services were for the benefit <strong>of</strong> employees,<br />

Regent Bank Plc: Relationship Officer, Retail Banking - Lagos, Nigeria (Jan 2005 - Jul 2005)<br />

Regent Bank, a commercial bank in Nigeria was re-branded and re-positioned in the fourth quarter <strong>of</strong> 2004, to compete aggressively in<br />

the market until its merger with StanbicIBTC in 2006.<br />

� Headed a team <strong>of</strong> three that contributed significantly to a 20% increase in deposit liability <strong>of</strong> the bank�s retail unit within a six month period,<br />

achieving a targeted customer acquisition plan through providing positive customer relationship management experiences.<br />

� Led and motivated the team to bring about a reduction in customer complaints, increasing customer retention and referrals using fresh and<br />

revitalised customer service to give customers confidence in the bank.<br />

Shell Petroleum <strong>Development</strong> Company Limited (SPDC): Contract Staff, Community Liaison Officer - �Port Harcourt, Nigeria (Jul 2002 -<br />

Mar 2004)<br />

One <strong>of</strong> the world�s major oil producing companies, Shell Companies in Nigeria are involved in a diverse range <strong>of</strong> businesses.<br />

� Involved in continuous negotiations with key community leaders on projects to be carried out in their communities as part <strong>of</strong> SPDC�s<br />

corporate social responsibility programme, successfully achieving a 10% cost reduction in downtime payments for Shell. Developed<br />

communication and conflict management skills.<br />

� Responsible for inspection <strong>of</strong> community projects, maintained and updated a database on all payments to contractors, key community<br />

leaders and joint venture contractors to ensure compliance with budget. Informed and updated the group heads on finances utilised, gaining<br />

support and approval for any increases in budgeted costs prior to utilisation.<br />

� Prepared weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports on payments and community projects for the group head's presentation in<br />

management quarterly business reviews (QBR). Progress reports assisted management in taking decisions on present and future projects.<br />
