Shanghai NTT Telecommunications Engineering Co., Ltd., (SNTE): Assistant Engineer (Customer <strong>Service</strong> Division) - Shanghai, China<br />
(Apr 2005 - Jul 2009)<br />
SNTE is a joint venture established by China Telecom Group, Shanghai Telecom Corporation and NTT Communications Corporation<br />
(both <strong>of</strong> which are amongst the biggest telecoms corporations in the world).<br />
� The company provides customers with high-quality services in consultation and network solutions.<br />
� Managed the PHS repair-centre with a team <strong>of</strong> seven, responsibilities included arrangement <strong>of</strong> repairs, communications between<br />
contractors and two clients; Alcatel-Lucent and ZTE, management <strong>of</strong> accessories stock, translation <strong>of</strong> repair reports and logistics <strong>of</strong><br />
returned products.<br />
� Maintained the mail-hosting project (creating and administering the email system for customers) for more than 30 companies including<br />
Panasonic and ANA. Solved several troublesome problems for customers, e.g, international email, which had been blocked due to<br />
Government control, this was resolved through working closely with engineers within the client organisations to analyse and identify the root<br />
cause. Following this, emails were re-routed to a sever in Japan and sent back via a direct line.<br />
� Responsible for collecting and analysing financial data <strong>of</strong> the customer service division and forecasting the revenue <strong>of</strong> the fiscal year, to<br />
assist the Board <strong>of</strong> Directors in adjusting their business plan.<br />
China Construction Bank (CCB): Accountant - Suzhou, China (Aug 2003 - Mar 2005)<br />
CCB is one <strong>of</strong> the 'big four' banks ranked as the second largest bank in China and the second largest in the world by market<br />
capitalisation.<br />
� Conducted foreign exchange and local currency accounting activities with three accountants, approaching approximately 200 customers.<br />
� Assisted a credit manager, who was in charge <strong>of</strong> looking after clients from Japanese organisations, to develop new and maintain existing<br />
customers. Took part in negotiations, prepared information prior to meetings and interpreted/translated at meetings all documentation, for<br />
the manager. Improved communication skills from this process.<br />
Nanjing Fujitsu Nanda S<strong>of</strong>tware Technology Co., Ltd., (FNST): Translator (Part-time) - Nanjing, China (Jun 2002 - Apr 2003)<br />
FNST is a joint venture established by Fujitsu and Nanjing University and is the only Research & <strong>Development</strong> centre <strong>of</strong> systems and<br />
basic s<strong>of</strong>tware development for Fujitsu China.<br />
� Translated technical documents and interpreted at five conferences and new product launches, improving computer skills and Japanese<br />
language ability.<br />
