<strong>Career</strong> History:<br />

Sorepla: Internship, France (Jul 2008 - Aug 2008)<br />

A leading French plastic-recycling company.<br />

� Assisted in the Strategic <strong>Management</strong> department and was proactive in the organisational communication <strong>of</strong> performance and financial<br />

reports; presenting recommendations to management.<br />

� Responsible for evaluating and improving monthly management reporting systems for all departments, as a result <strong>of</strong> the CEO's<br />

dissatisfaction with the lack <strong>of</strong> co-ordination between internal teams. Initiated changes, resulting in a more effective system.<br />

� Produced a report that included a series <strong>of</strong> recommendations to the General Manager and proposed the implementation <strong>of</strong> an alternative<br />

reporting method, which consisted <strong>of</strong> simplifying and standardising the reporting process used in the organisation, helping to save both time<br />

and money.<br />

� Communicated recommendations to all functional managers and successfully convinced them to implement relevant changes.<br />

Successfully emphasised the urgent need to move away from traditional Excel reports and move to a pr<strong>of</strong>essional s<strong>of</strong>tware system.<br />

� Analysed and researched the positive impact that Sage reporting s<strong>of</strong>tware could have on the organisation. As a result the company agreed<br />

to spend money on training and invest in overcoming the resistance to change amongst employees.<br />

� Actively participated in meetings and commercial negotiations with external suppliers and customers including Renault and a group <strong>of</strong><br />

potential Algerian suppliers. Developed communication and negotiation skills as a result.<br />

� Designed and distributed a satisfaction survey in English and French aimed at gathering quantitative data concerned with customer<br />

satisfaction levels, regarding products and services <strong>of</strong>fered by Sorepla; also obtaining qualitative data related to comments and suggestions<br />

for future changes.<br />

President <strong>of</strong> International Students Club, Volunteer: American University <strong>of</strong> Beirut - Lebanon (Nov 2007 - Oct 2008)<br />

� Created, promoted and ran the students club for ten months in a university with over 1,000 international students.<br />

� Achieved immediate success and grew rapidly to include more than 60 members from over 30 different countries, marketing the students<br />

club to students from a vast range <strong>of</strong> cultural backgrounds. Resulted in the coming together <strong>of</strong> a coherent and international team. Managed<br />

the work distribution <strong>of</strong> the team, and ensured that the volunteers remained committed and motivated.<br />

� Organised and assisted with a number <strong>of</strong> social events ranging from on-campus activities to field trips to Jordan, managing the event<br />

planning and implementation from start to finish. Events proved highly successful, gaining support from participants.<br />

Mediterranean Theatrical Festival: Performer - Alicante, Spain (Apr 2005)<br />

� Represented Lebanon along with fellow students in an event that brought together students from six Mediterranean countries, working<br />

together to create a positive atmosphere.<br />

� Developed communication skills and an understanding <strong>of</strong> cross-cultural relationships from people who shared one passion - theatre.<br />

� Selected as the lead actor in troupe and was highly successful. Performances had a great impact on the organisers and was recognised as<br />

the star <strong>of</strong> the festival, developed confidence and a number <strong>of</strong> important skills.<br />
