Roquette Freres: Marketing Trainee in the Pharmaceutical and Cosmetology Business Unit - Lestrem, France (Jun 2009 - ����������<br />
The Roquette Group family enterprise is one <strong>of</strong> the leading processors <strong>of</strong> starch, second in Europe and fourth in the world, as well as<br />
being world leader in polyols, pyrogen free raw materials and dry sugars. In 2009 it achieved a turnover <strong>of</strong> over �2.5bn. Roquette<br />
transforms renewable resources (corn, wheat, potatoes and peas) into an extensive line <strong>of</strong> high quality ingredients, for a wide range<br />
<strong>of</strong> food and non-food industries globally.<br />
� Conducted market research for the launch <strong>of</strong> a new pharmaceutical product (orodispersible excipient) and evaluated business opportunities<br />
with customers such as Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, GSK and AstraZeneca and competitors, such as Spi Pharma, Eurand and Cima.<br />
� Prospected potential new customers by buying listings <strong>of</strong> pharmaceutical companies contacts and then identifying according to potential<br />
interest for the new product.<br />
� Created a database for a mailshot campaign, which targeted 450 customers linked with the new product. This proved to be a very<br />
successful way to launch.<br />
� Worked closely during the pharmaceutical project, with the development manager and director <strong>of</strong> marketing and development through<br />
weekly meetings, in order to control work in progress and fix new objectives.<br />
Gala EBI 2009, President <strong>of</strong> the Student's Union Entertainment Committee, Ecole de Biologie Industrielle -�France (Apr 2008 - Jan<br />
2009)<br />
Gala EBI is one <strong>of</strong> the most important associations in the Ecole de Biologie Industrielle. Every year, a team <strong>of</strong> 20 students organisea<br />
ball to promote the school. The purpose is to bring students, alumni and organisations together to network, during a formal cocktail<br />
party.<br />
� Managed a team <strong>of</strong> 20 students, meeting weekly, to organise this event, with a �35k budget.<br />
� ����������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������<br />
a rapport with the companies, communicating and delivering some branded gifts. Negotiated with different external providers, such as an<br />
entertainment agency, caterer and musicians to obtain significant discounts.<br />
� Increased the reputation <strong>of</strong> the school by adding a new dimension to this event by proposing new activities (concert, poker games,<br />
magicians). Managed to double the participation in comparison with previous years (1,000 people) and in the process improved ability to<br />
conduct a team project and work under pressure to tight deadlines.<br />
Ecole de Biologie Industrielle: Marketing and <strong>Management</strong> Project - France (Sep 2008 - Feb 2009)<br />
The purpose <strong>of</strong> this eight person team project was to create a virtual company and to launch a new innovative product by analysing all<br />
steps to set up a business.<br />
� Developed marketing skills and a strong ability to work in a team by reaching difficult objectives together.<br />
Diagnostica Stago: Trainee (Production Department - Immunology <strong>Service</strong>) - Franconville, France (Aug 2007 - Sep 2007)<br />
Diagnostica Stago develops, produces and markets the widest range <strong>of</strong> reagent and <strong>of</strong> instruments <strong>of</strong> analyses worldwide, appealing<br />
to the most advanced technologies.<br />
� Participated in the production <strong>of</strong> different products (antibodies) and created a product sheet by analysing all the different tasks and raw<br />
materials needed to obtain a final product in order to optimise the production and to better control the stock. The service is now more<br />
efficient and the productivity has increased with this new tool.<br />
