Namvaran Consulting Engineers: Business <strong>Development</strong> Manager - Tehran, Iran (Sep 2008 - Sep 2009)<br />
Namvaran <strong>of</strong>fers a broad range <strong>of</strong> engineering, purchasing and project management services in diverse fields such as hydrocarbon,<br />
mining, metals and other industries. Namvaran is one <strong>of</strong> the two leading engineering consultancies in Iran, with over 700 employees.<br />
� Managed three engineering, procurement and construction tenders by co-ordinating 15 experts from the engineering and procurement<br />
teams, in a matrix organisation; negotiating with basic designers, vendors and construction companies, fixing the scope, time and cost <strong>of</strong><br />
the project. Reviewed contract and identified discrepancies, and presented the proposal to client, under supervision <strong>of</strong> the programme<br />
director, which led to winning a �200m lump-sum turn key project.<br />

Project <strong>Management</strong> Research and <strong>Development</strong> Center (PMRDC) is a specialist research and development centre in the field <strong>of</strong><br />
project management, working under the authority <strong>of</strong> the National Petrochemical Company <strong>of</strong> Iran. The project based organisations<br />
maturity model was designed to measure the level <strong>of</strong> excellence in project based organisations.<br />
� Audited two medium size companies - �Namvaran Sanat��and �Karsazan�, using the project based organisations maturity model, supervising<br />
two auditors, interviewing senior management and presenting the results. Helped companies to find their position in the model and to define<br />
improvement projects.<br />
Bakhtar Petrochemical Company: <strong>Management</strong> Systems Senior Specialist - Tehran, Iran (Oct 2007 - Sep 2008)<br />
Bakhtar Petrochemical Company is a holding company, which provides the required resources and services for its subsidiary<br />
(petrochemical) companies, which are fed through the West Ethylene Pipeline <strong>of</strong> Iran. Bakhtar is the largest private petrochemical firm<br />
in Iran.<br />
� Defined and led subsidiaries' improvement projects, through assessing management systems with focus on eight main stakeholders,<br />
including leadership and shareholders, customers, suppliers, employees, technology providers, finance creditors, joint ventures,<br />
government and society.<br />
� Reviewed the �managing contractors��contract, transferring responsibility <strong>of</strong> petrochemical plants construction to other expert firms.<br />
Reviewed all parts <strong>of</strong> the contract and amended with a team <strong>of</strong> six experts from legal, technical, commercial and finance departments. The<br />
performance <strong>of</strong> the managing contractors was improved dramatically under the amended contract.<br />

Namvaran <strong>of</strong>fers a broad scope <strong>of</strong> engineering, purchasing and project management services in diverse fields such as hydrocarbon,<br />
mining, metals and other industries. Namvaran is one <strong>of</strong> the two leading engineering consultants in Iran with over 700 employees.<br />
� Led risk management process <strong>of</strong> two main projects through identifying, assessing, responding and controlling risks with the help <strong>of</strong><br />
document reviews, interviews and regular meetings. This process helped two projects to reduce their risk by approximately 3%.<br />
� Assessed management control system by interviewing, reviewing documents and auditing quality management system <strong>of</strong> the organisation.<br />
The improvement strategies were based on the assessment to enhance the company management control system.<br />
� Developed an effective model for integrated cost management, used in EPC projects based on the concept <strong>of</strong> target costing.<br />
� Supervised HSE engineering discipline, designing HSE engineering systems, managing six design engineers and communicating with other<br />
disciplines and Engineering Manager.<br />
