Nanjing Mingri Hotel: Assistant Sales Manager - Nanjing, China (Feb 2009 - Jun 2009)<br />

Nanjing Mingri Hotel is a four-star hotel, which also has a long-term relationship with Nanjing Construction Bureau and many other<br />

construction companies.<br />

� Assisted the sales manager to negotiate with three long-standing clients and extended the co-operation contract between them for two<br />

years. By selling a combination <strong>of</strong> the rooms, the revenue from these three clients was increased by 3% compared with the previous<br />

contract, which had been expected to bring in around RMB570k (equal to approximately �50k).<br />

� Organised two academic conferences, which catered for 90 guests in all, by liaising with all the departments <strong>of</strong> the hotel. Co-ordinated with<br />

staff from different departments, such as catering, transportation, and finance. The conferences ran smoothly and received 100% positive<br />

feedback.<br />

Nanjing Hongye Construction Engineering Company Ltd: Human Resources Assistant -�Nanjing, China (Jun 2008 - Nov 2008)<br />

Nanjing Hongye Construction Engineering focuses on industrial construction on a large scale, having an enormous potential for<br />

growth with its revenue increased by 17% per annum.�<br />

� Managed and co-ordinated employee training and pr<strong>of</strong>essional examinations for construction budgetary specialists, senior draftsmen,<br />

project architects, architectural engineers and others. Communicated with teachers from the government construction training department<br />

and arranged the timetable for the training to make sure it co-ordinated between the teaching and staff schedules, to ensure that the training<br />

impacted as little as possible into the daily routine. Within the six months from June to November, 37 from the 39 candidates passed the<br />

97%.<br />

� Created a database which produced social security, as well as social welfare figures for the whole company monthly and automatically,<br />

which cut down labour cost by 30% saving time inputting and calculating.<br />

� Contributed to the design <strong>of</strong> employee performance measuring and evaluating system which measured the staff performance with seven<br />

dimensions and could give advice to improve the performance according to the outcome. This system was estimated to increase revenue<br />

at the rate <strong>of</strong> 15% by enhancing employees' working efficiency.<br />

� Selected qualifying CVs, recommended them to the department directors and organised the interviews. This resulted in 37 excellent<br />

candidates being hired for a variety <strong>of</strong> roles.<br />

Nanjing Gulou District Huaqiao Road Street Community Centre: Internship - �������������������������- Aug 2006)<br />

Nanjing Gulou District Huaqiao Road Street Community Centre is a government department for community service covering an area<br />

<strong>of</strong> 120,000 square metres, which provides services to almost 8,000 residents, including health care service, re-employment guidance<br />

and lifestyle, retirement and community development.�<br />

� Implemented research on the purchasing habits <strong>of</strong> consumers in Gulou District, by collecting and analysing survey data collected from<br />

2,000 residents living in the community. This research contributed to the report on the Chinese consumer habit compiled by the Ministry <strong>of</strong><br />

Finance, which studied consumption <strong>of</strong> all types <strong>of</strong> goods in the last five years (2002 - 2006) using the family unit and financially forecasting<br />

for the coming three years (2007 - 2009).<br />
