Equitorial Trust Bank Limited: Team Leader, Corporate and Commercial Banking Unit - Nigeria (Nov 2006 - Sep 2009)<br />

A medium sized Nigerian universal bank with 90 branches and 1,000 staff, with a balance sheet <strong>of</strong> US$1.8bn and gross earnings <strong>of</strong><br />

US$200m in financial year ending December 2008.<br />

� Managed and reactivated 20 accounts (key clients included Globacom Telecommunication Limited, KPMG, Global Outdoors, International<br />

Learning Systems Limited, Globe Motors Limited, Coscharis Groups Limited), leading to over US$5m in corporate and commercial<br />

transactions, through direct pitches and one-to-one relationship management with clients.<br />

� Advised clients on changes in government policies, such as foreign exchange restriction for importation or exportation, ensuring proper<br />

channels were used and timing was right for bid processing, mitigating goods being held as contraband. This assisted the bank and clients<br />

by reducing issues on repayment <strong>of</strong> credit loans.<br />

� Built a strong six member team in retail banking, through effective supervision, delegation with growing responsibility, team building and<br />

bonding.<br />

Skye Bank Plc: Retail Banking Unit - Nigeria (Sept 2004 - Sept 2006)<br />

A large Nigerian universal bank, with over 200 branches, 2,000 staff and balance sheet <strong>of</strong> US$1bn and gross earnings <strong>of</strong> US$340m in<br />

financial year ending June 2009.<br />

� Generated a turnover <strong>of</strong> US$500m under retail banking group through effective personal selling, cold calling and referrals through other<br />

banks' customers.<br />

� Introduced five high net worth individuals to the bank, whose business involved fixed and call deposits through the Personal Banking Group,<br />

with transactions in excess <strong>of</strong> US$2.6m.<br />

� Personally managed one <strong>of</strong> the bank's very demanding customers, retaining them for the bank through one-to-one relationship<br />

management, daily visits, arranging meetings with senior management to be part <strong>of</strong> their businesses. The company has a turnover <strong>of</strong> over<br />

US$666m on average.<br />

Platinum-Habib Bank Plc: Personal/Consumer Banking - Nigeria (May 2000 - Jun 2002)<br />

This is one <strong>of</strong> the fast emerging commercial banks in Nigeria and Africa as a whole with over 200 branches, staff <strong>of</strong> 2,000, a balance<br />

sheet <strong>of</strong> US$4.5bn and gross earnings <strong>of</strong> US$941m in financial year ending June 2009.<br />

� Team leader for four member retail banking at the branch level with a portfolio <strong>of</strong> US$1.2m through relationship management in personal and<br />

consumer banking.<br />

� Worked with the retail product design committee, which consisted <strong>of</strong> two assistant general managers, one manager, two supervisors and<br />

an analyst, redesigning the bank's retail products and gaining approval for all the new products within three weeks. As analyst, was tasked to<br />

undertake a product pilot survey with the other 24 banks, which was completed within one week.<br />

� Generated key non-borrowing retail clients, generating a turnover <strong>of</strong> US$1.1m through door-to-door marketing, referrals and cold calls to<br />

companies and individuals.<br />
