A portion of the stream passes to the east of this watercourse, through an
unwadable, muddy lowland swale with no defined channel. Fish exiting the lake
via this outlet would descend in elevation but encounter dense thickets of brush
and downed trees and shallow, braided stream channels where flow is dispersed
and to some extent passes interstitially through substrate, sediment, rootwads, and
brush incapable of passing adult sized fish. The areas covered by shallow braids,
marsh and blow down did not lend themselves to surveying. The well-defined
stream channel in the vicinity of the road channel was surveyed at a natural
constriction featuring a concentration of cobble-sized rocks that could limit
passage at least at lower flows (Figure 5).
