HORTOBÁGY
The and largest park in Hungary was designated a national
park in 1973. It features the largest grassland in Central
Europe, and is part of the World Heritage. Hortobágy
is the perfect plain developed from the planation of the
River Tisza, which preserves its character even today.
The ancient Hungarian Grey Cattle, the managalica
swine, and the Hungarian herd-dogs: the puli and pumi
are held here with the purpose of gene preservation.
The symbol of the National Park is the famous Nineholed
Bridge, which was the longest public road bridge
in 1833 when it was finished. The herds of the Debrecen
cattle merchants traveled to Vienna using this bridge in
the times of the Tisza floods. Its unique flora and fauna,
the endless horizon are a genuine spectacle and great
experience for those who like harmony and nature itself.

Der erste und immer noch der größte Park Ungarns wurde
im Jahre 1973 gegründet. Das größte Grünland (Pußta) in
Mitteleuropa ist ein Teil des Weltkultur- und Naturerbes. Die
Hortobágy-Pußta ist ein Flachland, das im Flutgebiet der Theiß
entstand und auch heute seinen Charakter bewahrt. Mit dem
Ziel der Genaufbewahrung hält man hier Grauviehherden,
Zackelschafe, Mangalica-Schweine und auch solche
ungarischen Hirtenhunde, wie Puli und Pumi. Das Symbol
des Nationalparks ist die berühmte neunbögige Brücke,
einst (in 1833) war sie die längste Steinbrücke Ungarns.
Während des Hochwassers der Theiß gingen die Debrecener
Viehhändler mit ihren Rinderherden über diese Brücke nach
Wien. Einzigartige Flora und Fauna, der unendliche Horizont
bieten ein wunderschönes Panorama und ein tolles Erlebnis
für diejenigen, die die Harmonie und die Natur selbst lieben.
