PÁPA
Pápa is one of the most beautiful Baroque small towns in Hungary. The first written reference
to it originated in 1061. It is also referred to as the town of churches as it boasts thirteen
beautiful churches. The largest among them is the Great Church (Nagytemplom) on Fő tér
whose existence is owed to Count Charles (Károly) Esterházy, who had it built based on the plans
of Jakab Fellner in the 18th century. This church is the symbol of the town today.

Pápa ist eine der schönsten barocken Kleinstädte Ungarns. Sie wurde erstmals 1061 schriftlich
erwähnt und wird auch die Stadt der Kirchen genannt, denn dort befinden sich dreizehn schöne
Kirchen. Die größte ist die auf dem Hauptplatz stehende Großkirche, die Graf Károly Esterházy
im 18. Jahrhundert nach den Plänen von Jakab Fellner errichten ließ. Die Kirche ist heute das
Wahrzeichen der Stadt.

Pápa è una delle più belle cittadine barocche dell’Ungheria, la prima menzione scritta risale al
1061. È chiamata anche la città delle chiese, dato che si vanta di ben tredici chiese. Tra di esse
la Chiesa Grande su Fő tér, costruita grazie al conte Károly Esterházy in base ai progetti di Jakab
Fellner nel XVIII° secolo. Questa chiesa rappresenta oggi il simbolo della città.

Pápa Magyarország egyik legszebb barokk kisvárosa, róla első írásos emlék 1061-ből való.
Templomok városának is nevezik, hiszen tizenhárom szép templommal büszkélkedhet. Közöttük
a legnagyobb a Fő téren álló Nagytemplom, mely létrejöttét gróf Esterházy Károlynak köszönheti,
aki Fellner Jakab tervei alapján építtette fel a XVIII.században. Ez a templom ma a város jelképe.
