SYNAGOGUE IN DOHÁNY STREET
The biggest synagogue in Europe which was built between 1855-1859 according to the plans
of Figyes Feszl and Ludwid Förster, is still a major factor in today’s vibrant Budapest lifestyle.
Its neologist style is a mixture of Moorish, Byzantine and Turkish elements. The services are
in Hebrew in the spacious interior is capable of accommodating 6000 people. On the opening
ceremony, the original organ-pipe, with its 5000 pipes, came to life by the hands of Ferenc Liszt.
DIE SYNAGOGE IN DER DOHÁNY STRASSE
Die nach den Plänen von Frigyes Feszl und Ludwig Förster gebaute (1855-1859) größte
Synagoge Europas spielt im Leben von Budapest eine bedeutende Rolle. Die Synagoge wurde
im neologistischen Stil gebaut. Sie ist mit maurischen, byzantinischen und türkischen Elementen
verziert. In der monumentalen Synagoge werden die Gottesdienste auf hebräisch gehalten. Auf
der mit 5000 Pfeifen ausgestatteten ursprünglichen Orgelpfeife hat auf der Eröffnungsfeier auch
noch Franz Liszt gespielt.
LA SINAGOGA IN VIA DOHÁNY
È la più grande sinagoga d’Europa: costruita tra il 1855 e il 1859 su progetto di Frigyes Feszl e
Ludwig Förster in stile moresco, bizantino e turco. Anche ai nostri giorni sta svolgendo un ruolo
importante nella pulsante vita di Budapest. Nell’enorme tempio, che ha una capienza di 6000
persone, i riti vengono celebrati in lingua ebraica. Sull’organo originale, dotato di 5000 canne,
suonò anche Ferenc Liszt, in occasione della festa di inagurazione.
A DOHÁNY UTCAI ZSINAGÓGA
Európa egyik legnagyobb zsinagógája. 1855-1859 között épült Feszl Frigyes és Ludwig Förster
tervei alapján, és ma is jelentős szerepet tölt be Budapest lüktető életében. A templom neologista
stílusban épült –mór, bizánci és török elemek alkotják. Az istentiszteletek héberül zajlanak a
hatalmas zsinagógában, mely 6000 fő befogadására képes. Az orgona 5000 síppal van ellátva. Az
eredeti orgonasípon még Liszt Ferenc is játszott a megnyitó ünnepségen.
