EGER
This thousand-year-old small town with a glorious past is famous for its monuments, good wine
and thermal waters. Although almost everything was destroyed in the time of the Tartars, the
town later played an important role in the time of the struggle against the Turks when István
Dobó and his handful of soldiers heroically defended the castle for 38 days in 1552, against an
army forty times larger.

Diese mehr als tausend Jahre alte Kleinstadt hat eine glorreiche Geschichte, sie ist durch
ihre wertvollen Denkmäler, guten Weine und dem Heilwasser berühmt. Obwohl sie während
des Mongolensturmes fast völlig zerstört wurde, spielte sie später eine wichtige Rolle, als der
Burghauptmann István Dobó mit einer Handvoll Soldaten im Jahre 1552 ganze 38 Tage lang die
Burg gegen den türkischen Feind erfolgreich verteidigte.

Questa cittadina plurimillenaria, con un glorioso passato storico, è famosa per i monumenti di
valore, i buoni vini e le acque curative. Anche se quasi distrutta a seguito dell’invasione dei
tartari, svolse in seguito un importante ruolo quando nel 1552, durante le guerre contro i turchi,
il capitano del castello István Dobó e il suo piccolo drappello di combattenti difese eroicamente e
con successo per 38 giorni il castello contro le forze turche 40 volte superiori.

Ez a több, mint ezer éves kisváros, mely dicső történelmi múlttal rendelkezik, híres az értékes
műemlékeiről, a jó boráról és a gyógyvizéről. Bár a tatárjárás idején majdnem elpusztult,
később jelentős szerepet játszott, mikor a török harcok idején Dobó István várkapitány és
maroknyi csapata 1552-ben hősies módon 38 napig sikeresen védte a várat a negyvenszeres
túlerővel szemben.
