OHMVR Commission adopts the Carnegie SVRA General Plan
The OHMVR Commission held a public hearing to consider approval of the 2016 Carnegie
SVRA General Plan. The hearing took place at the Sacramento City Hall on Friday,
October 21, 2016. At the hearing, OHMVR Division staff presented information about the
general plan development process, proposed land uses, resource conservation efforts,
and associated environmental impacts. Several hours of public testimony followed the
presentation. After deliberation, the OHMVR Commission voted unanimously to adopt the
General Plan.
The Carnegie SVRA General Plan was part of a multi-year planning effort involving substantial
public and stakeholder input. The updated General Plan will serve as a guide for future
development, management, public use, and resource protection for the next 20 or more years.
The plan considered proposed land uses, facilities, concessions, visitor use, additional OHV
recreation, and non-motorized recreation uses such as hiking and camping.
