On the ribbon, click Output > Export to<br />

DWF/PDF > Export to PDF Options .<br />

On the Export to PDF Options dialog, set<br />

the Vector quality, Raster image quality, line<br />

merge control, <strong>and</strong> Data options.<br />

Importing to PDF<br />

<strong>AutoCAD</strong> allows you to import a PDF into a<br />

drawing file.<br />

On the ribbon, click Insert > Import > PDF<br />

Import .<br />

The options in the Data section help you to include<br />

layer information, hyperlinks, <strong>and</strong> create<br />

bookmarks. Also, you can capture fonts used in the<br />

drawing.<br />

On the Select PDF File dialog, browse to the<br />

location of the PDF file.<br />

Select the PDF file <strong>and</strong> a preview appears in<br />

the Preview area of the Select PDF File<br />

dialog.<br />

Click Open; the Import PDF dialog appears.<br />

On the Import PDF dialog, specify the Scale<br />

factor.<br />

Under the PDF data to import section, check<br />

the TrueType text option.<br />

Under the Layers section, check the Use<br />

PDF Layers option.<br />

Click OK.<br />

On the ribbon, click Output > Export<br />

DWF/PDF > Export > PDF .<br />

On the Save As PDF dialog, select a PDF<br />

Preset to specify the PDF quality.<br />

Examine the options in the Output Controls<br />

section, Export, <strong>and</strong> Page Setup.<br />

Specify the location of the PDF file <strong>and</strong> click<br />

Save. A bubble appears on the status bar<br />

after exporting the PDF file.<br />

Open the PDF file in a PDF viewer <strong>and</strong><br />

notice the layers, bookmarks, hyperlinks in<br />

the drawing. Also, you can find any text in<br />

the drawing using the text search option in<br />

the PDF viewer.<br />

Click OK to insert the PDF into the drawing.<br />

Combining Text of the Imported PDF<br />

After importing the PDF into an <strong>AutoCAD</strong> drawing,<br />

the text of the PDF is converted into single line text<br />

objects. However, you can <strong>com</strong>bine them into a<br />

multi-line text using the Combine Text <strong>com</strong>m<strong>and</strong>.<br />
