Part 1: <strong>AutoCAD</strong> Basics<br />

Make the Sketch layer as current.<br />

Set the view orientation to Right <strong>and</strong> draw<br />

the sketch as shown below.<br />

The Close surface or solid option connects the start<br />

<strong>and</strong> end section of the lofted object.<br />

<br />

Change the view orientation to SE Isometric.<br />

<br />

Ensure that the Dynamic Input is activate<br />

<br />

Set the Solid layer are current.<br />

<br />

Select the Normal to option <strong>and</strong> select All<br />

cross sections. Click OK; the loft solid will<br />

be created as shown below.<br />

Click Home > Modeling > Presspull on the<br />

ribbon.<br />

Click inside the bottom region of the sketch<br />

<strong>and</strong> move the pointer backwards. Type 60 in<br />

the Dynamic input box <strong>and</strong> press ENTER;<br />

the extruded feature will be created.<br />

Using the Presspull tool<br />

The Presspull tool is used to create <strong>and</strong><br />

modify solid models with a greater ease <strong>and</strong><br />

speed. It can be used to ac<strong>com</strong>plish two types of<br />

operations: extruding closed 2D shapes <strong>and</strong> add or<br />

remove material from a solid object based on<br />

whether you “pull” or “push” the extrusion.<br />

<br />

Click in the region enclosed by the larger<br />

circle <strong>and</strong> extrude it up to 64 mm distance.<br />

<br />

Start a new file.<br />

<br />

Press <strong>and</strong> hold the CTRL key <strong>and</strong> select the<br />

Create two layers called Sketch <strong>and</strong> Solid.<br />
