Turn OFF the Grid Display by pressing the<br />

F7 key.<br />

Click Save on the Quick Access Toolbar.<br />

Click the Customization button on the<br />

status bar, <strong>and</strong> then select Dynamic Input<br />

from the flyout. This displays the Dynamic<br />

<br />

Save as Line-example1.dwg.<br />

Close the file.<br />

Turn OFF the Dynamic Input icon. You will<br />

learn about Dynamic Input later in this<br />

chapter.<br />

To draw a line, click Home > Draw > Line<br />

on the ribbon, or enter LINE or L in the<br />

<strong>com</strong>m<strong>and</strong> line.<br />

Example 2 (using Relative Coordinate<br />

system)<br />

In this example, you will draw lines by defining its<br />

end points in the relative coordinate system. In the<br />

relative coordinate system, you define the location<br />

of a point with respect to the previous point. For this<br />

purpose, the symbol, ‘@’ is used before the point<br />

coordinates. This symbol means that the coordinate<br />

values are defined in relation with the previous<br />

point.<br />

Type 50, 50 <strong>and</strong> press ENTER.<br />

Type 150, 50 <strong>and</strong> press ENTER.<br />

Type 150,100 <strong>and</strong> press ENTER.<br />

Type 50,100 <strong>and</strong> press ENTER.<br />

Select the Close option from the <strong>com</strong>m<strong>and</strong><br />

line. This creates a rectangle, as shown<br />

Click New on the Quick Access Toolbar.<br />
