SPLIT SQUAT VARIATIONS

Although the squat puts you in the strongest possible position for lifting, few human

movements take place with your feet parallel to each other. Walking, climbing, throwing,

and striking all require a split stance. So even though the split squat works the same

muscles, it works them in a slightly less stable and predictable posture, one that comes

closer to the context in which they’ll be used.
