Bricks and Wall Construction
Today, architects can use a variety of wall construction materials
in their designs, including clay bricks, decorative bricks,
hollow and solid concrete blocks, lightweight concrete, white
bricks, and so on. Prefabricated wall systems are a modern
alternative to precast concrete panels, glass fiber reinforced
concrete (GRC), different metal panels, fiber cement panels,
and other building materials. However, masonry materials are
still used in construction today due to familiarity with the
material, ease of purchase at general construction materials
stores, ease of finding a builder, no special machinery or
equipment required for installation, and cost savings. However,
the disadvantages of the construction material are that it is
small and takes a long time to build, it is wet work, which
causes workload and cleaning issues, that some types of
building materials are not fixed in size, that production is not
up to standard, that it has high water absorption, and that it
must be soaked in water before building the wall. Plastering
equipment is required for some types.
Brick for walls is one of the oldest materials utilized since
ancient times. Some decorative surface materials are presented
and supported by brick wall construction components.
A brick wall is often quite robust. It is well-known among
builders. It is tiny and can be used for building operations in
limited spaces. It has a distinct aesthetic. This issue will tell
the narrative of clay bricks, which are formed from a mixture
of clay, sand, rice husks, and water and then burned in a kiln
until cooked.
The second issue of the “Mold Clay” periodical, published
by A.P.K. DAWKOO (1988) Company Limited, contained useful
information regarding bricks. The ASA Journal would like
to offer a summary of some of its contents and thank Khun
Jindarat Saranarak for granting permission in this regard.
“Bricks” are essential in the construction of a city. It has a
long history, as does human civilization. Brick is widely acknowledged
to be one of the most durable and sturdy materials.
The oldest bricks date back thousands of years, hundreds of
years before Christ.
Early bricks were just molded mud that dried in the sun before
being utilized in building construction. The bricks got stronger
and more lasting after the invention of the kiln. As a result,
bricks are a material that is widely used all over the world.
