ในขณะที่เทคโนโลยีการผลิตอิฐและงานออกแบบก้าวหน้าไปมาก แต่<br />
เทคนิคในการก่ออิฐยังคงอยู่กับที่ รูปแบบการก่อยังคงเป็นเหมือนกับ<br />
สมัยโบราณ แม้ในวันนี้มีการคิดค้นเครื่องก่ออิฐอัตโนมัติ หรือหุ่นยนต์ที่<br />
ช่วยในการก่ออิฐขึ้นมา แต่คงมีข้อจำากัดให้ได้ใช้งานแพร่หลายอย่างเป็น<br />
รูปธรรม แรงงานคนโดยเฉพาะช่างก่ออิฐมืออาชีพก็ยังคงอยู่ในความ<br />
ต้องการมาทุกยุคสมัย<br />

Expertise, or a builder’s expertise and personal abilities, have<br />
frequently been veiled in mystery. Like art, it is usually not<br />
passed on to anyone other than family. And if there were no<br />
heirs, the craft might vanish. Similarly, great bricklaying techniques<br />
are likely to disappear within the next generation.<br />
The Masonic journey, which began so long ago, has now<br />
reached a stage where we must acknowledge its worth<br />
and assess the hazards to its future. Assume that<br />
no experts were involved in every aspect of brickwork<br />
and that the team worked as an inter-disciplinary team,<br />
whether the owner, architect, engineer, contractor, brickmaker,<br />
or bricklayer. It is thus worthwhile to seriously<br />
study and collect wisdom from the past to the present,<br />
to teach and educate the younger generation, and to<br />
encourage more skilled bricklayers—to help keep the<br />
brick’s legacy alive and proudly continuing.<br />
