Block, a sequential construction method, repetitional<br />
action with disciplines. This low-tech and<br />
easy technique resonates with a region, community,<br />
and a certain policy.<br />
The Mapungubwe Interpretation Centre in South<br />
Africa, designed by Peter Rich Architects, utilizes<br />
a Timbrel Vaulting structure made from sun-dried<br />
bricks, a method that revives a traditional local<br />
technique. Quite many locals were taught to make<br />
these bricks, providing them with not only employment<br />
and income during the construction but also<br />
with valuable skills beyond the scope of the project.<br />
A large quantity of bricks needed for the project’s<br />
size instantly forge relationships around the site in<br />
many dimensions.<br />
Initiated in 1978, the “Building Together” in Soi<br />
Ladprao 101 represents a low-tech approach that<br />
introduced the concept of ‘anywhere-ness’ using
