An Old City,
A New Vision
EKAR Architects designed a
60-room hotel in the old city
of U Thong to revitalize the
narratives and recollections
of the past, employing architectural
design language to
communicate a vanishing
history by using orange bricks
to form a composition of
rectangular window frames
based on the characteristics
of pagoda bases in the area.
Public, Private
and In-between
In MC House, designed by
Research Studio Panin, aims to
balance its surroundings and
provide private living spaces. It
features a functional program
with art-focused spaces and
outdoor access, blending vernacular
and industrial characteristics
through brickwork
techniques.
