In the old cultural city of U Thong, known for its<br />
cultural and historical significance, the founders<br />
of Pusayapuri Hotel and EKAR Architects aim to<br />
revitalize the narratives and recollections of the<br />
city by using contemporary architectural designs<br />
to communicate with the vanishing history.<br />
The city of U Thong is documented in Thai history<br />
as a diminutive ancient polity. The ancient city of<br />
Dvaravati, settled between the 12 th and <strong>16</strong> th centuries<br />
BC, served as a maritime city and a hub of<br />
culture. Substantial evidence has been discovered<br />
to demonstrate the significant historical significance<br />
of U Thong as a community. Historically, it is reputed<br />
to have been the most ancient hub of Buddhism in<br />
Thailand. Currently, U Thong remains a historical<br />
city inside Suphan Buri Province. However, its<br />
significance as a tourist attraction may not be as<br />
notable as in many other famous cities. The founders<br />
of Pusayapuri Hotel and the designers at EKAR<br />
Architects mutually agree on this point. Hence, they<br />
intend to employ design to revitalize the narratives<br />
and recollections of the urban area and its inhabitants,<br />
allowing the architectural designs created<br />
in contemporary language to communicate a<br />
vanishing history. Moreover, the buildings have<br />
