“We don’t look at architecture as a building. But we see it as one larger object.
And people can move in.”
The notion that “architecture is one large object” assists Junsekino Architect and Design
in not repeating itself. Jun had an intriguing insight into the future of material selection:
“We may bring many pieces of furniture together and make a home. Or can’t we just wrap
the building in mosquito netting?” They begin with imagination, which runs through a series
of ideas before sorting through all of the possibilities. It is not about working from possibility
and looking for otherness.

This could be Junsekino Architect and Design’s distinctive approach. It reflects being open to
new perspectives, comprehending, and working with a team that is constantly coming up with
new ideas. Jun Sekino noted that another intriguing aspect was how to change or prepare the
next generation of architect people to manage themselves. He flipped the script and stated
that it is professionals like himself and senior architects of older generations who must adapt
to both technology and the dynamics of an ever-changing world.
“As time goes on, we’ll keep experimenting, exploring new avenues, and remaining fresh.”
It may not be broader in scope, but it will be more meaningful. Over the following 3-4
years, both the scale of the work and the office’s operating guidelines will be altered to
be clearer and get us closer to the proper position. The key thing to remember is that
architecture is not everything in life. We still have a lot of other dimensions to think
about and apply to architecture.”
