Architects have a long history of creatively reinventing
and repurposing existing materials in order to create
new and innovative architectural structures and
spaces. New interpretations can provide fresh perspectives
and unique meanings to commonly used
materials, resulting in diverse and distinctive user
experiences. We have witnessed the creation of
some truly unique architectural works through the
imaginative use of everyday materials that people
are familiar with.
PBM is an architecture practice with an evolving
body of work that demonstrates their dedication to
integrating diverse interests and knowledge in the
realm of architecture and interior design. In many
of their endeavors, particularly projects in the realm
of corporate architecture, the development of architectural
design often takes place simultaneously
with the conceptualization and materialization of a
client’s corporate identity. This approach enables
both the architecture and the organization to achieve
the characteristics they intend to convey to the
public. At times, their design does not immediately
reveal the type of building or its functional purposes,
and as a result, it broadens users’ perceptions and
how they use and interact with the architecture.
pbm incorporates this approach into the design of
Where’s House Warehouse, creating an architecturally
distinctive structure and functional spatial
program.
