every possibility that the documented record may be stolen, hence it is necessary to<br />

maintain the security of the material by employing security guard.<br />

9.2.5 Do’s and D<strong>on</strong>’ts in Library Plants<br />

� Select most popular plants and plants of commercial importance of the specific<br />

area.<br />

� Prepare flash cards from pressed specimens.<br />

� Use herbarium, photographs, photocopies for making plant library<br />

� Develop plant cafeteria in instituti<strong>on</strong>al area<br />

� Make elaborative list of plants and take care of material.<br />

� Soft brush should be used to clean any unwanted sticking of dry specimens<br />

� Store specimen in dust free and moisture proof c<strong>on</strong>tainer.<br />

� Pressed specimen should be preserved in blotting sheets under some pressure<br />

� Care should be taken to keep them free of insect attack.<br />

� Different types of specimens sorted alphabetically should be pasted separately.<br />

� The storage box or cabinet may be provided with glass viewer<br />
