Estas boquillas operan a presiones muy bajas (Modelo de 10 psi). Por tener un ángulo bastante abierto facilitan poder trabajar muy cerca del objetivo (del suelo) y, por eso mismo, son las preferidas para equipar las barras cubiertas para aplicar herbicidas bajo la falda de los árboles y arbustos (frutales, cafetales). Normalmente son de flujo alto (alta descarga) y producen gotas grandes por eso es que actualmente se ha incrementado el uso de boquillas de impacto de baja presión, ya que producen gotas relativamente pequeñas (TK -0.5). El patrón de descarga de las boquillas de impacto es bastante irregular, debido a eso su utilización en barras presenta problemas de superposición. Consecuentemente la aplicación del producto es también bastante irregular (Fotografía 6.27). Las boquillas de flujo alto, utilizando dentro de las especificaciones (10 a 20 psi) producen gotas grandes y con ello no habría problema del factor deriva. Sin embargo, se observa en la práctica, que las boquillas están siendo utilizadas a presiones muy superiores a las recomendadas, con lo cual las boquillas de impacto generan gran cantidad de gotas pequeñas sujetas a la deriva.
