Salim is een zachte, liefhebbende man die hard werkt om zijn familie te onderhouden. Altijd<br />
goedlachs en positief. Maar realiseert hij zich voldoende dat zijn jongere neef Yusuf het erg<br />
moeilijk heeft? En er steeds radicalere opvattingen op nahoudt? Watatu onderzoekt de relaties<br />
tussen verschillende gemeenschappen en culturen, de woede en de radicalisering van<br />
jongeren, en de oplossingen die kunnen worden gevonden om hen te verenigen. De film is<br />
gemaakt door de Keniaanse NGO S.A.F.E (Sponsored Arts For Education) die door middel<br />
van straattheater gemeenschappen wil inspireren en verzoenen om zo sociale veranderingen<br />
teweeg te brengen.<br />
Salim est un mari gentil, généreux et aimant, qui travaille dur pour faire vivre sa famille. Mais fait-il<br />
assez pour guider son neveu Yusuf ? Tourné entièrement à Mombassa, le film analyse les relations entre<br />
différentes communautés et cultures, la colère et la radicalisation des jeunes, et les solutions qui peuvent<br />
être trouvées afin de les unir. Watatu a été produit par l’ONG S.A.F.E. (Sponsored Arts For Education) qui<br />
utilise le théâtre de rue pour inspirer et réconcilier les communautés et contribuer au changement social.<br />

performing group, S.A.F.E. Pwani. A Kenyan NGO and UK Charity that uses street theatre, film and<br />
community programs to educate, inspire and deliver social change.<br />
