The Second Recital - 62<br />

bhāvito bahulīkato abhiññāya Sambodhāya Nibbānāya saṁvattati. [7]<br />

when developed and made much <strong>of</strong> it leads to deep knowledge, Complete Awakening, and<br />

Nibbāna.<br />

Ime kho bhante satta Bojjhaṅgā Bhagavatā sammad-akkhātā,<br />

These are the seven factors <strong>of</strong> Awakening, reverend Sir, which have been fully explained by the<br />

Gracious One,<br />

bhāvitā bahulīkatā abhiññāya Sambodhāya Nibbānāya saṁvattantī” ti. 1<br />

when developed and made much <strong>of</strong> they lead to deep knowledge, Complete Awakening, and<br />

Nibbāna.”<br />

“Taggha Cunda Bojjhaṅgā!<br />

“Surely, Cunda, (these are) the factors <strong>of</strong> Awakening!<br />

Taggha Cunda Bojjhaṅgā!” ti.<br />

Surely, Cunda, (these are) the factors <strong>of</strong> Awakening!”<br />

Idam-avoca āyasmā Mahācundo,<br />

Venerable Mahā Cunda said this,<br />

samanuñño Satthā ahosi,<br />

and the Teacher was in agreement,<br />

vuṭṭhāhi ca Bhagavā tamhā ābādhā,<br />

and the Gracious One recovered from that affliction,<br />

tathā pahīno ca Bhagavato so ābādho ahosī ti.<br />

and by that the Gracious One’s affliction was brought to an end.<br />
