tion ly<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> wait for us. At first, this terrible tea was<br />

reserved only for <strong>the</strong> high solemnities <strong>of</strong> our vagabond life.<br />

As <strong>the</strong> days <strong>of</strong> depletion advanced on us, however, and <strong>the</strong><br />

tea nearly f<strong>in</strong>ished, it was only by <strong>the</strong> feel<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> a sudden<br />

plunge <strong>in</strong>to pr<strong>of</strong>ligacy we dared to dr<strong>in</strong>k a coward cup <strong>of</strong><br />
