Pioneer Penman
A little known but one of the
greatest penmen of our time, Thomas
George Little, was born near Oakvale,
West Virginia, February 24,
1857 and died at his home in Athens,
West Virginia, September 16, 1939.

Mr. Little became interested in
penmanship at an early age and
maintained this interest until the
end. He was not content to plod
along as a home student, and by the
strictest economy, he managed to
save enough to go to Oberlin College
where he came under the influence of
such men as Uriah McKee and J. T.
Henderson. While there he achieved
