Are you interested in a position? Most business men who do the selecting of office help examine the handwriting<br />

of the applicant. See what some of the big business executives say about good penmanship, and what they demand<br />

of their employees. Good handwriting will help you to get a position. It will help you to get better grades in<br />

school. You please your teacher when you hand in papers which she can lead. Penmanship plays an important<br />

part in the school and for that reason alone you should develop good handwriting.<br />

One of the first things teachers should do is show pupils the importance of good handwriting. <strong>The</strong>y can find many I<br />

examples where people in their community have been helped by good penmanship to secure positions.<br />

You have, no doubt, heard expressions like these: "She is a beautiful writer, so neat and careful. He is an atro-<br />

cious writer, so careless and inefficient." What are they saying about your handwriting ?<br />

Position is important for good handwriting. Study the illustrations in this issue and in other issues of the <strong>Educator</strong>.<br />

See if you are working in the correct manner. I<br />

getting nice smooth clean lines. Get the turns at the base line even.<br />
