. That the proposed use will not be in conflict with the objective <strong>of</strong><br />

the most detailed plan adopted for the area.<br />

c. That the proposed use will not constitute a nuisance to properties<br />

located in residential or mixed use districts or developed for<br />

residential purposes with respect to noise, dust, fumes, light,<br />

vibration or traffic.<br />

d. That the proposed use will comply with all applicable Federal<br />

Aviation Administration Regulations.<br />

(7) ALTERATION<br />

Any change or expansion in the size, configuration, or location <strong>of</strong> a<br />

structure; or any change or expansion in the use <strong>of</strong> a structure or lot,<br />

from a previously approved or legally existing size, configuration,<br />

location, or use.<br />

(8) AMBULATORY SURGERY AND DIAGNOSTIC CLINIC<br />

An establishment where patients are admitted for examination and<br />

treatment on an outpatient basis by one or more physicians, dentists or<br />

other medical personnel, psychologists or social workers and where<br />

patients are not usually lodged overnight.<br />

(9) AMUSEMENT FACILITIES [OUTDOOR]<br />

The provision <strong>of</strong> entertainment or games <strong>of</strong> skill to the general public for<br />

a fee, where any portion <strong>of</strong> the activity takes place outside <strong>of</strong> a building,<br />

including but not limited to a golf driving range, archery range, or<br />

miniature golf course. This use does not include outdoor stadiums.<br />

(10) AMUSEMENT FACILITIES [INDOOR]<br />

An indoor amusement facility is an establishment where the primary use<br />

is to provide entertainment within an enclosed building for a fee and<br />

including such activities as dance halls, musical entertainment, bowling<br />

alleys, billiard and pool establishments; commercial facilities, such as<br />

arenas, skating rinks, coin operated amusement devices, theaters and<br />

game parlors.<br />

(11) ANIMAL HOSPITAL<br />

A structure that is used solely for the practice <strong>of</strong> veterinary medicine.<br />

Veterinary medicine is the application <strong>of</strong> medical, diagnostic and<br />

therapeutic principles to companion, domestic or exotic animals.<br />

(12) APPURTENANCE<br />

The visible, functional or ornamental objects accessory to or part <strong>of</strong> a<br />

building.<br />

(13) ARCADE<br />

A walkway adjacent to a building, covered by a ro<strong>of</strong>, yet is not fully<br />

enclosed.<br />

(14) ATTACHED HOME<br />

Rear yard buildings which share common side walls. Attached homes may<br />

be town-homes or condominium units.<br />
