and parapets; or pitched as with residential homes.<br />

(96) FLOODWAY AREA<br />

Any site designated by the Federal Emergency Management Authority<br />

[FEMA] as susceptible to flooding, and shown on the <strong>of</strong>ficial Flood Hazard<br />

Boundary Map and/or Flood Insurance Rate Maps for the <strong>Punta</strong> <strong>Gorda</strong><br />

area. All development within a flood hazard area as so defined, shall<br />

conform to the provisions <strong>of</strong> this Ordinance.<br />

(97) FLOODWAY FRINGE AREA<br />

The portion <strong>of</strong> the flood hazard area not in the floodway.<br />

(98) FOUNDATION<br />

A foundation shall be defined as that portion <strong>of</strong> the building consisting <strong>of</strong><br />

the footers, slab, block, concrete or other building materials constructed<br />

under and upon the ground.<br />

(99) FOUNDATION LOCATION SURVEY<br />

A survey prepared by a pr<strong>of</strong>essional surveyor registered in the State <strong>of</strong><br />

Florida certifying the location and setbacks from all closest points <strong>of</strong> the<br />

foundation and all structural projections upon the property at grade.<br />

(100) FRONTAGE<br />

The lot boundary which coincides with a public thoroughfare or space.<br />

The facade <strong>of</strong> a structure facing the street.<br />

(101) GARAGE<br />

An attached or detached structure to a residential building which may<br />

serve as an equipment storage building, parking enclosure, artist studio,<br />

or workshop.<br />

(102) GAZEBO<br />

A free standing, ro<strong>of</strong>ed, open sided structure providing a shady resting<br />

place.<br />

(103) GRADE<br />

The height <strong>of</strong> the top <strong>of</strong> the curb, or if no curb exists, the height <strong>of</strong> the<br />

edge <strong>of</strong> pavement in the lane <strong>of</strong> travel adjacent to a building, structure,<br />

or sign.<br />

(104) GROUP HOMES<br />

A building except for congregate housing, used as a dwelling for a group<br />

<strong>of</strong> unrelated persons living together as a unit under the supervision <strong>of</strong> a<br />

local or state agency as defined by the Fair Housing Act and enforced by<br />

the United States Department <strong>of</strong> Justice. Such facility includes the term<br />

foster care home.<br />

(105) HABITABLE<br />

Habitable means a structure that is suitable for living, see Dwelling Unit.<br />
