Each Research officer has been assigned the work of six districts. Research cell
of this department is working form State Head Quarter for all Divisional /Subdivisional
Offices.
The cell has to work for all planning and special areas in the state for collection,
compilation and tabulation of statistical; data. The cell was equipped with staff of
having 10 in 1979 i.e. one research officer ,two research assistants and 7 field
investigators and at present is having staff strength of seven person only. Three
posts of Field investigators abolished during the year 2006.The cell require to be
strengthened and reorganize at root level i.e. Sub Division and district level to
perform the increased work of the department.
6.14.2 Function of the Research Cell:
1. To monitor surveys and studies conducted by the official of the
department pertaining to housing ,Socio Economic Status, trade &
commerce, industry, tourism , services, utilities , offices institutions and
traffic &transportation for regional Plans/Development Plans/schemes in
respect of planning /Special areas constituted under the provisions of H.P.
Town Country Planning act,1977.
2. To ensure monitoring analysis and interpretation of Statistical data.
3. Preparation of survey schedule etc. to conduct different kind of survey
and studies.
4. Preparation of reports on the basis of data collected by different kinds of
surveys and studies.
5. Coordination of the statistical activities within the department and
without side agencies.
6. Any other job assigned by controlling officer/Head of the department.
6.14.3 Machine Manpower and other infrastructure
In addition to above the department has engaged three field investigators on daily
wages. Two computers with one printers and scanner is available in research
wing of this department at directorate.
