The Department of Labour in the State does not have regular publications. However,
publications of the Labour Bureau provide labour and employment statistics. Some of
these publications are listed below:
1. Annual survey of industries, 2001-02: report on, absenteeism labour turnover,
employment and labour cost in sample sector
2. Statistical Profile of Women Labour - Year 2004
3. Pocket Book of Labour Statistics 2003-2004
4. Statistics of Factories - Year 2000 containing data on:
a. Estimated Average Daily Employment in Working Factories
b. Factories carrying on operations declared dangerous and workers
c. employed in such operations
d. Estimated Average Daily Employment in Working Factories during
e. Employment by Specified Normal Weekly Hours
f. Leave with Wages,
g. Industrial Injuries in Factories
h. Number of Safety Officers, Ambulance Rooms, Canteens, Shelters, Rest Rooms,
Crèches and Welfare Officers
5. Statistics on closures, retrenchment and lay-offs in industries in India during year
f) Interactions with other agencies.
The Department of Labour interacts with DES, NSSO, and the Labour Bureau for
purposes of data collection.

h) Manpower
There is no statistical staff deployed for this activity. Work is being carried out by
ministerial staff.
i) IT Tools used
This line department is not having any computers for undertaking statistical data storage
and analysis.
