compilation and analysis <strong>of</strong> data and also ICT and bring out<br />

reports at local body, block, and district levels.<br />

Awareness programmes for the public by the local bodies<br />

regarding compulsory issue <strong>of</strong> license and submission <strong>of</strong><br />

completion reports <strong>of</strong> the buildings through the ward Sabha and<br />

gram Sabha need be organized.<br />

Housing department has to revise/modify State Housing Policy<br />

once in five years.<br />

Computerization <strong>of</strong> data and bringing out publications annually<br />

and uploading the same on the local body website and also<br />

consolidated information at district and state level on the website<br />

<strong>of</strong> the concerned departments.<br />

9.16 Electricity production and distribution statistics:<br />

Reforms Proposed:<br />

Impart training in consolidation, analysis <strong>of</strong> electricity data<br />

through Central Electricity Regulatory Authority or such other<br />

institutions.<br />

Obtain ICT infrastructure and s<strong>of</strong>tware.<br />

Disseminate the consolidated data on generation, transmission and<br />

distribution <strong>of</strong> electricity through the web site <strong>of</strong> the Energy<br />

department and also through print media<br />

9.17 Environment and Forestry statistics:<br />

Forestry Statistics:<br />

1. There is need to collect statistics on the following additional subjects:<br />

Forest fires and the consequent destruction<br />

Details <strong>of</strong> plantations, activities <strong>of</strong> village forest committees.<br />

Forest and animal species under extinction.<br />

Medicinal plants<br />

Census <strong>of</strong> commercial forest produces like chil, dawedor and fur<br />

etc.
