f) Publications and latest issues/ Dissemination There is no publication<br />

exclusively on GFCF statistics. However, GFCF data is published in DES<br />

publications and in the Economic Survey <strong>of</strong> <strong>Himachal</strong> <strong>Pradesh</strong>.<br />

g) Interactions with other agencies<br />

DES interacts regularly with the departments <strong>of</strong> state government, departmental<br />

undertakings, public sector, and Local Bodies for collecting the required data for<br />

estimation <strong>of</strong> GFCF. It also interacts with CSO for finalization <strong>of</strong> estimates <strong>of</strong><br />

GFCF.<br />

h) Base year<br />

The estimates at Constant Prices are being prepared with base year 2004-05<br />

i) Statistical returns<br />

Data are collected in prescribed formats, which are non-statutory.<br />

j) Manpower Employed<br />

Statistical staff engaged for SDP estimates are also deployed for this activity<br />

k) I. T. Tools<br />

IT tools provided for SDP are used for this activity.<br />

l) Quality <strong>of</strong> data<br />

The quality <strong>of</strong> GFCF and Savings estimates suffers due to: (i) exclusion <strong>of</strong><br />

private sector; (ii) the follow-up surveys <strong>of</strong> the enterprises not providing data for<br />

actual addition to fixed assets, but providing data only for gross assets, which do<br />

not satisfy the definition; and (iii) inability <strong>of</strong> the different controlling authorities<br />

to improve the reporting <strong>of</strong> data and also its quality;<br />

4.1.3 District Domestic Product<br />

The responsibility for DDP estimation is with DES. The DES is preparing the<br />

estimates <strong>of</strong> district income for various sectors by allocating the State income<br />

among the districts using appropriate indicators. The estimates are under<br />

finalisation and will be disseminated thereafter. DDP estimates with base year
