through respective Divisions, Circles, and Regions after compilation and
consolidation at the respective level. The HPSEB Ltd. then, after scrutiny and
validation, consolidate and compile the power consumption data at the State level
and transmit this to the Power Department.
(e) Statistical returns
Power generation data is on-line. Data on power consumption is reported in a
non-statutory form prescribed by HPSEB in which category wise consumption of
power is compiled. Reporting of the progress of rural electrification is done
through a monthly progress report (non-statutory).
(f) Publications
There is no statistical publication on power generation and distribution. However,
such data is published in the Annual Reports of the Department of Power, and
HPSEB Ltd.
(g) Time Lag
The time lag in data dissemination is 12 months.
(h) Manpower
There is no statistical staff deployed for this activity. Work is being carried out
by ministerial staff.
(i) Use of IT
Transmission of data on power generation from power stations to HPSEB grid is
on line. Billing data is computerised. On-line payment of bills is in place.
(j) Quality
The data on electricity generation and consumption is good
