Ngotsha <strong>of</strong> the ffiabisa clan; OkaSondaba, daughter <strong>of</strong> Sondaba <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Buthelezi clan; Ncaka, mother <strong>of</strong> Kholekile (who also died at Ncome<br />

in1838) and daughter <strong>of</strong>Mncinci <strong>of</strong>the Qwabe clan; MeWwana, daughter<br />

<strong>of</strong> Ntopho <strong>of</strong> Ntshwankeni KaNdaba; Khishwase; Mjanisi and<br />

Mangcengeza. 31<br />

Several <strong>of</strong> Senzangakhona's wives were associated with the great wife,<br />

Mkabi. Nandi, Langazana and Bibi were junior wives associated with<br />

Mkabi J2 The mothers <strong>of</strong>Dingane, Mhlangana and Mpande were the only<br />

heir-bearing wives who were not affiliated to the great house. The fact<br />

that they all belong to the left-hand section, helps to account for their<br />

subsequent alliance against Shaka. 33<br />
